Goodbye!!!!   *tears*

1) Speak – just plain good. Nothing big and fancy. Plus, it’s plot was full of suspense and other good stuff. haha descriptive…..

2) Whirligig

3) Ender’s Game – it was pretty interesting. I would’ve enjoyed it more if I didn’t have a time limit. You know, not having to read 200  pages in 3 days.

4) Animal Farm – it was better thinking that it did not relate to the Russian Revolution

5) A Midsummer Night’s Dream – it was funny, not too long, and we got to act it out

6) Romeo and Juliet – also quite funny, and we got to act it out

7) 1984 -Yes, I thought it was pretty good. Get over it. Yes it was long and painful. But overall it was good so there.

Cold Sassy Tree – even if I failed a quiz or two over this, it was at least slightly interesting

9) Fahrenheit 451 – it only got better towards the end, sadly.

10) The Odyssey -Vocabulary. Need I say more? I’m sorry but I was never taught that dewdrops meant baby sheep.

I’m leaving out Great Expectations because we haven’t finished reading it yet. And I left out The Glass Menagerie because, frankly, I have no opinion. HAve a good week.

Hey Guess what!!! – only 3 weeks left, counting finals. Which is totally real school because we have to learn, take tests, and study. DEFINITION OF SCHOOL RIGHT THERE!

Anyways, I hate to say it, but I don’t have a favorite author. I just have favorite books, and out of them none really connect through voice or style. I know it sounds like this doesn’t bode well for me this unit, but I understand them, it’s just not why I like certain books.

However, I think that I’ve read a book or two by an author who’s name (unfortunately) escapes me. What was cool about the style in which he wrote was that in parenthesis, he’s have his own opinion about what was going on, even though he wrote the story. I don’t know, I think it’s cool that there were two views, and it stole my attention and got me out of the story and into his/her head. I guess it was cool. ummmmm….yeah. haha That’s all for this week. Adios!

Anyways, I plan to keep all of my grades an A. It would be really awesome if I can bring my honors classes that aren’t at or higher than a 93 to that point, because then I would have a 100 with 7 points. Right now that’s two classes, lit and bio, which I have the same grade in, 91. So hopefully it won’t be too hard to bring them up 2 points. They are also my lowest grades. I guess I’m bragging but I’ve already been called Asian and nerdy, so I don’t really care. If anyone is annoyed, angry at me, or  has taken offense, I’m sorry. Continuing, For lit, I plan to work my butt off on the research paper, try to do really well on quizzes (which will really help my grade), and do any extra credit that I can. For bio, I pretty much need to pray. I can study for hours and still not get that A on a test.  It’s horrible. Anyway, yeah those are my plans. OH! And for bio I’m going to pull all- nighters to make sure that stupid, darned, plant project is perfect. I don’t understand why we have to take a test on that unit too, but I guess that’s besides the point. Yup. So, I don’t expect many social events to be happening in the next 6 weeks. Maybe a couple weekends after EOCTs. But I think I can pull it off, hopefully. And I know that even if I don’t pull them up to 93s, I’ll still be ok. (hehe see I used it)

I’m super excited, but my mother’s a bit PO-ed because we’re flying Easter Sunday. (Oops, on my Father’s part!) Anyways, the day we get there my uncle, dad’s brother, told him that he has some “practicing” catholic friends who will tell him a good church nearby. After church we will be walking to a very fancy restaurant with a view of the Golden Gate, My Uncle’s treat. If time before we eat, we will go take a tour of the Ghirardelli Factory. I totally spelled that right. Anyhow, that will definitely be one of the stops, and I will bring chocolate home for all .

I don’t know exact schedules, but other places will be the classic Golden Gate bridge, San Fran Bay, and Alcatraz. I find it awesome to go to the most famous prison in the U.S. to see serial killers and creepers. My sister has no clue why. Don’t you think that would be awesome? No, yes, whatever. Anyways, I wanted to convince my dad to take a day trip down to L.A. but it’s 7 hours so it’s a no.<Sadness> I don’t know what else we’re doing. Probs some shopping, and other sight-seeing. If you know another place that’s good to visit, comment it! I’m super excited and will be posting a bajillion pics on Facebook whenI get home. haha

We’re coming back on Friday night. And I will miss it. But I’m planning a road trip to L.A. the summer after my senior year, so you can join me if you like. 18 = Freedom! hehehe

First, I’d like to commend the Music Man cast for an awesome job. Being part of that cast is being part of a family, just a different kind. Mrs. Lake’s students are part of a family. I think any being that is connected in some way is  family. But truly being family-like takes a bond. I know that us students know what that bond is. Anyone who was in Music Man can guess what that bond was.

Second, my favorite t.v. show that really showed family is an old one… Gilmore Girls. It is very entertaining, and has a great story line. It was able to last so long because viewers bonded with the characters through endless hours of reruns and finally the last season. It was really sad to see it go. My second favorite is even older… Full House. It is definitely one of the cutest shows ever with its cheesy ending during the part where Danny sits down with Michelle or Stephanie, or sometimes DJ, and teaches them a lesson. That is a very different, but still a realistic family setting.

Other shows that I like that have familial ideas in them are Friday Night Lights, Glee(!!!!!!), and, also, Modern Family.

My family has one tradition that I know will always be there even when I, the youngest, leave for college. That is the infamous tradition of Friday Night Movie Night. Everyone who currently lives at home gathers around our big screen in the basement after ordering pizza, The Works and The Meats (Papa John’s best), and grabbing their favorite soda, and we start a-watching. It’s not really movies but it’s our family shows, I’ll just list a few. Lost, 24, Grey’s Anatomy, House, and there are some others.

Okay! So I like group projects just not during the Musical. HAHAHA. Coordinating was the most difficult task ever!!! And for a lot of groups, not just ours. Church retreat, dance rehearsals, and musical rehearsals didn’t leave a whole lot of room to do much. But we were able to (as the title declares) work it out, and for the most part, it turned out okay. Much thanks to Katelyn’s genius brother Hunter!!! THANK YOU!!! hahaha, that was great.

“Did you download the flip iSquint program?”

“The WHAT!!??? I didn’t even know that existed.”

“Kay, like in 10 or 20 minutes it’ll be ready.”

I hate this topic, because I’m not that critical so like A LOT of movies. I guess I’ll pick a top five, but there will be many others that I’ve seen, but am forgetting to write about OH, also, these aren’t in order. They’re all from 2009 or really EARLY 2010. But I didn’t even get to see all the ones I wanted to. Fore example, I really wanted to see The Proposal, Star Trek, Public Enemies, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. and some random horror movies.

These weren’t necessarily the best movies, but I was excited for them, and was thoroughly entertained.

By the way, I don’t know if any of you guys did this, but have you ever gone to a movie just to make fun of it?? Okay, well some friends and I went to see Hannah Montana the Movie, and it was awesomely hilarious, as well as High School Musical 3: Senior Year. Some of the stupidest movies of all time, but really good because you can make fun of them all you want.

One movie that I saw recently is Valentine’s Day. It wasn’t an exceptionally good movie, but it was a great romantic comedy, minus the fact that some random actors  cough** Taylor squared** cough, weren’t really good at acting….. at all.

So I want to relate it to this unit, but don’t get ahead of yourselves, I am completely and utterly and not irrevocably in love with someone. (That’s from Twilight by the way…) Instead, it’s a secret, hence the hush. (Pussycat Dolls if you didn’t know) Anyways, so (as always) there’s a guy. However, he is kind of shy. I like him though, which is slightly unusual. No need to guess or say names, by the way! I’m trying to decide whether to hint at it by changing my, I don’t know, I guess you could say reactions(?) around him. Or not. Wow, I sound so superficial it’s almost gross. Oh well. I figured this would be fun for you, or at least the girls.

OK yes and no. Yes, some girls think they are immediately in love with some random hot guy, but they don’t get married the next day. Actually, it doesn’t even have to be a hot guy. They just see a guy, and say I LOVE HIM! No, they don’t. As I discussed in last week’s blog, you can’t meet a guy and automatically know that you are right for each other. Also, we don’t kill people because our families are enemies, in fact I’m not sure how many family feuds there are right now, unless it’s the game.

Then again, yeah, certain guys will creep on the girl they like, even if she DOESN’T like them back. Does a certain half Chinese girl know what I’m talking about? Not you Franny. Sorry if u didn’t want that mentioned. hahaha

Anyways, it’s a great fiction story, but that’s exactly it, it’s fiction. And I’d be mighty afraid if it became nonfiction. Teens killing themselves because their love is dead? Do we really need more drama???
